Richard the sheep has zero interest in being a regular farm animal. He lives out his online life at @richardandtheguardians. This video, shared by the account, shows a dog pack walking through the woods with another animal following right behind them. It looks totally normal at first. But then you realize one of the fluffy things isn’t a dog.
The sheep follows them across the fallen leaves twice a day. He’s been doing it since he was just weeks old. In another post, we learn he even skips the sheep huddles to snuggle with his guardian friends. He basically thinks he’s one of the guys.
Dog pack and the sheep get along swimmingly in adorable video
Chumley, a Kangal and Anatolian mix, and Chloe, a Great Pyrenees and Anatolian mix lead the way through the trees. These breeds are born to protect things. But Richard isn’t looking for protection; he’s looking for a lead spot. He actually headbutts Chumley to move up in the line. Meanwhile, a Golden Retriever runs ahead with a big stick.
Richard doesn’t pick up sticks yet, but he keeps the pace. The video makes it hard to spot the sheep in the dog pack at first because he just blends in seamlessly with all that fur. The owner says he’d blend in even better if he didn’t headbutt.
Most people think he is a goat, but he is just a very confused sheep. He loves dog food too, even though it is bad for him. Richard’s owner also joked that they hadn’t heard him bark…yet.
A lot of people have showered love on the video of the sheep hanging out with the dog pack because they look like one big family.
And it is no surprise that this clip went viral with over 100,000 likes. One person said they didn’t even see Richard for a while. “Headbutt is his signature,” another fan commented. Someone else suggested he needs to carry a stick to complete the disguise. He just wants to hang out with his mates. And his anthem is clearly “I am what I am.”
