An adorable video from Instagram user @imbluethesiberian shows a dog named Blue who acts as a really helpful roommate to his cat sibling, letting her enter before he shuts the door behind them.
The Siberian Husky in the video is arguably really intelligent because he understands his owner. But more importantly, he is raising the bar for being the most helpful furry friend ever, at least in this video.
Husky knows how to open and close doors
The video begins with the dog coming into the room through a fully closed door before the cat enters the scene. Behind the camera, his owner calls him out, saying, “Hey, if you’re gonna open the door, can you close it at least?,” prompting Blue to immediately turn back and use his front paws to shut the door.
But his owner asks him to close it “all the way.” She requests, “Can you close it all the way, please?,” and Blue braces again, ready to finish the job. But right when he is about to shut the door, he pauses as the cat slips into the room — so only after the feline makes it through does Blue push the door fully shut.
His owner acknowledges his help, saying, “Thank you for letting the cat in.” Meanwhile, the caption points out, “You can’t tell me he doesn’t understand English perfectly,” and with how prompt the Husky is with his responses, he might actually understand each word.
A lot of people watching agreed, with one comment reading, “He’s so smart he let the kitty in first.” Another viewer wrote, “Love that he didn’t smash the cat and waited,” while a third viewer further gushed, “What a considerate dog!”
Whether or not the dog in this video understands English, he sure does understand how to be a gentleman and let the cat in before he closes the door.
