Rescue Dog & Cat Want to Oversee Dad Collecting Mail in Cute Video

Leaving the house for thirty seconds shouldn’t be a big deal, but try telling that to Cactus and Miso. The pets live with their human, Michael, who posts their daily life at @cactustherescue. Michael just wanted to grab the mail from the box that is literally attached to the front door. It’s right there. However, his rescue dog and cat act worried in this new video. Cactus just plops right by the metal gate to let his dad know that he has his apprehensions about him fetching mail.

Rescue dog and cat are not leaving dad’s side in adorable video

Michael starts filming from the door. He tells his furry babies he’s just running outside. Cactus doesn’t believe him and runs past his dad and parks himself at the grill gate. Then there is Miso. The cat is sitting right there with eyes firmly on him. He keeps reassuring them that he’ll be back in five seconds, but neither the rescue dog nor the cat believes him in the video.

Michael has to physically take Cactus’s face in his hand to explain. He says the mailbox is attached to the door, but Cactus just blinks. The rescues just want to be involved in every single move their dad makes. When Michael tries to get back inside, it’s a mess. Both of them are blocking the way.

“Can you let me back inside?” he asks. But Miso sees an opportunity. He tries to sneak past and move onto the doormat. Michael has to use the mail to hold him back. “You’re trying to escape,” he says. It is a lot of effort for such a boring task. He eventually has to pick Miso up to get him back in the house. “Apparently checking the mail requires a full family meeting,” Michael wrote. The rescue dog finally wanders back inside.

Over 9,000 people liked the post. One comment mentioned having a mini heart attack when Miso broke loose. Another person joked that dangerous missions require a lot of “pawtection.” It is just how it goes with rescues. They never want to let you out of their sight; even if you are just three feet away.
