Golden Retriever Is Convinced Mail Truck Carries Treat

One sign of kindness and you can count on your furry friend’s loyalty. And if you ever stopped by to give Lo, the Golden Retriever, a treat in your mail truck, this adorable video from TikTok user @walkswithlove is for you. Lo’s theory about the neighborhood mail truck is that it’s not there for letters — it’s there for him.

In the video, the dog walker captures the Golden Retriever locking in to look for a mail truck like it’s a snack stand. The onscreen text explains why: “Pov: you’re convinced the mail truck is actually the treat truck.”

According to the dog sitter, this all started with a single, fateful moment of kindness. In the video, she says, “He got treats from the mailman one time,” laughing because the dog immediately looks back when he hears “treats.” She then adds, “And now he thinks he’s gonna get one every single time he sees the mail truck.”

And Lo proves that point. He does not move from the sidewalk, staring down the street in Salt Lake Valley as if someone put him on a shift. Though the sitter tries reasoning with him, saying, “We gotta go. She’s not coming for you. She’s delivering. Come on,” he does not budge.

Lo eventually moves, trotting along a snowy path. Still, the Golden can’t help himself — he stops and looks back one last time before he runs again — while the sitter gushes, “I freaking love this dog so much.” In the caption, she writes, “Convinced the mail truck is his treat mobile” and adds that Lo is “such a good boy.”

Viewers couldn’t get enough of the stare-down. One person highlighted the moment no one could help but get sentimental about, commenting, “When she looked back one last time.” Meanwhile, another joked, “Oh she ain’t slacking when the word treat comes around.”

One reward, and suddenly every mail day feels like it should come with a snack. And Lo, for the record, still seems very confident he is right.
