Benji’s Mom is already sitting in her home office, the camera rolling, because she knows exactly what’s going to happen next. The Cavapoo has just finished his stroll and comes bounding in through the open door. Mom tells us it is basically a daily check-in that has to happen before anything else. He is a mix of a Cavalier and a Poodle, which basically translates to “I cannot be in a separate room from you.” The on-screen text of the video explains it all; the sweet dog always runs into mom’s office after walks to make sure she’s still there. He charges in and immediately does a full-body shake that lasts a while. It is his way of announcing his arrival. Mom asks if he just got back from outside, and he just stands there like a statue. He is checking to make sure she is still exactly where he left her. Then, just as quickly, he turns around and sprints out. It is total “mission accomplished” energy.
But he isn’t gone for long. He comes back a few seconds later with his favorite red ball in his mouth. He is feeling extra playful today and decides it is time for a break. Benji drops the ball right in front of her. Mom tells him to bring it closer, but he just stands his ground. He is basically bossing her around without saying a word. He wants her to get up and come to him.
The back-and-forth is hilarious because he is so small but so firm about the rules. He isn’t moving that ball an inch closer.
