Video: Big Dog & Tiny Human Taking Turns To Play the Harmonica Melts Hearts

This mom caught something in her Austin living room that is way better than anything on TV right now. Most parents worry about how their pets will handle a new tiny human. But this video proves Snoopy is basically a professional babysitter and a jazz musician rolled into one. A big dog usually has a lot of patience. This one has a whole lot of soul, too.

Over at mom’s handle, @lizharroun, the footage shows her daughter leading a total jam session. They are currently locked in a very serious harmonica duet that is breaking the internet.

Baby teaches dog how to play the harmonica in adorable video

And he’s a German Shepherd, so he’s basically wired to be the ultimate guardian. But he’s playing it way more like a gentle backup singer here. The tiny human blows into the harmonica. And Snoopy immediately starts his own “singing” solo—a throaty, heartfelt sound. The text on the screen says she’s trying to teach him how to play. And mom seems to think his vocal contributions are worthwhile.

And so the toddler offers the instrument to her furry older brother. She really wants him to take over the melody. Snoopy just sniffs it for a second. Then he rests his chin on the metal. Then we see the girl saying both their names. The tiny human is clearly trying to get the big dog to understand the assignment in the video.

Mom says the love they show for one another is unique. It’s better than anything she’s seen between two humans. And their bond is evident in every frame of the video. But then the clip cuts to five minutes later. They are still going strong.

One viewer joked that they started a band. Everyone is ready for the tour dates. It is just constant harmonica blasts followed by a very polite howl. Snoopy looks at the camera occasionally. He seems to be checking if Mom is getting his good side. “Snoopy is a natural!” a fan commented. And he truly has the rhythm of a seasoned pro. It is the kind of wholesome stuff that makes the day feel a little less heavy.
