Leo looks like he’s trying to solve a physics puzzle that’s actively melting away. In this video, the mini Golden Retriever puppy is losing a battle against a single ice cube in the kitchen. Over at @leothepolarpuppy, the latest clip shows this pup taking on his frozen nemesis with way more aggression than necessary.
He’s rolling around on the carpet. He’s grabbing the stool legs for leverage. And honestly, it’s a lot of effort for something that’s just frozen water. But when you’re this small, everything is a potential threat or a snack. And in the case of puppies, it is usually both.
Golden Retriever puppy fights ice with all his might
When the clip begins, Leo is lying on the carpet next to the kitchen stools, really getting into it. He’s being surprisingly aggressive for a fluffball. He finally gets the ice in his mouth and rolls over like he’s won a gold medal.
However, the heat from his mouth melts the edges. And the ice just slides right out onto the floor. He just stares at it. The human who is filming starts laughing. Leo gives them the most offended look ever. It is the “I am in the middle of a war here” face.
The ice keeps moving. It slides away while he’s busy being offended by the laughter. He has to actually get up to investigate where it went. He finds it right above where his head was. So he slams both paws down on it. The idea is not to let it escape again.
Goldens might be known for being sweet. But they are incredibly persistent when a “toy” is involved, even if that toy is a video prop that is slowly disappearing into the rug. As you can see in this video, this Golden Retriever puppy isn’t giving up against the ice.
He tries to pick it up again, and fails. He starts “pecking” at it like a very confused and angry bird. It’s so dramatic. He tries to bring it close by pinning it under his paw. But the more he fights it, the smaller it gets.
Eventually, he manages to get a good chomp in while lying down. But again it slips. The funniest part is watching him realize his prize is shrinking every second. The more he plays, the less there is to eat. All of it is absolutely hilarious to watch.
