Video: Rescue Puppy Does This After Being Told His Favorite Movie Will Start Late

A hilarious video from @cactustherescue shows Cactus, a rescue puppy with strong opinions, who wants to watch his movie — and he wants it immediately. In the video, Cactus’s owner asks him the magic question: “Do you want to watch Shrek?” And Cactus answers with a short, high-pitched howl that sounds like pure excitement as the on-screen text translates it as “Yeaa!” But what follows is pure chaos.

Rescue puppy is not okay with the delayed start of Shrek

The rescue puppy’s owner follows up by telling him that his movie will be on in “10 minutes” — and that’s all it takes for Cactus to switch from thrilled to offended, with the on-screen text echoing his inner voice with, “NOW.” In protest, Cactus starts digging through the sheets like his life depends on it. He keeps bouncing, digging, and throwing a tiny tantrum across the bed — and as the video’s on-screen caption says, he basically “crashes out over watching Shrek.”

As Cactus spirals, he stays committed to the bit. Cactus even dramatically grabbing his owner’s hand with his teeth. Then his paw parent calls him out by his full name, “Cactus Brown.” The caption clarifies that this is a normal obsession in their house: “Cactus did NOT want to wait to watch his favorite movie of all time! If anything stands between him and his Shrek he will go crazy ??”

In a lot of young dogs, especially rescues who are getting used to a routine, excitement can look like digging and playful nipping. It’s not aggressive, but it can surely be dramatic — and Cactus is a great example.

Viewers supported Cactus’s spiral. One user joked, “Not the full name bro.” Another said, “Sassy Cactus Brown.” A third commenter demanded on behalf of Cactus, “Put it on already daddy.” And someone joked, “Uh oh…not Cactus being called by his government name ?”

Shrek may have started 10 minutes later, but through the video, the rescue puppy ensured nobody forgot who runs movie night.
