Most people pull out a frother when they’re craving a latte. Sophie pulls hers out because her dog is staring her down. In @mr.spennysaus’s post, the scene begins in the kitchen. Here, Spencer, a shaded cream Dachshund, stands just out of view, waiting for his specific order. The water’s been sitting there the whole time — Spencer just isn’t interested until things are done properly. In the viral video, Sophie bends down and gives the water a serious swirl with the motorized tool while Spencer supervises the entire process. Once the bubbles hit the right level, he casually walks over and starts drinking like this is completely normal.
Dachshund likes his water ‘frothed’ in video
It’s such a strangely specific habit, and apparently over 99,000 people now share the same question as Sophie: how do you explain this to a dog sitter? As his mom puts it, Spencer likes his water “frothed only.” You can see the pure satisfaction on his face as he finally starts drinking once the “tornado water” is ready.
If Sophie doesn’t do it, Spencer simply stands there and waits her out. This Dachshund clearly has a list of standards longer than his actual body. This isn’t the only time Spencer has been a total diva about his meals. Sophie has mentioned that she sometimes has to pretend his favorite toy squirrel is eating his dinner just to spark his appetite.
She even makes little munching noises to make the “theft” feel real. It seems he only wants what he can’t have, or what has been professionally prepared. The comments are full of other pet parents sharing their own ridiculous routines. One owner mentioned having to “cook” their dog’s food in a cold oven just so the pup thinks it’s a fresh meal.
Another person joked that they spent a month spoon-feeding a dog while pet sitting. It’s clear that Spencer is in good company when it comes to being a high-maintenance roommate. Somehow, everything tastes better if it involves effort, drama, frother or a stuffed squirrel.
