Dogs who instinctively extend their paws to brace themselves are often labeled as “smart,” as the reaction is believed to show awareness and quick problem-solving.
Pearl, the older of the two sisters, is the first to take the test. As she is lifted toward the wall, her paws hang loosely at her sides. Even when her owner slowly presses her closer, Pearl doesn’t attempt to stop herself. Instead, she calmly lets her cheek rest against the wall, showing no sign of concern or urgency. The owner repeats the motion, but Pearl’s reaction stays the same, leaving viewers laughing at her relaxed and unbothered attitude.
Next comes Poppi, Pearl’s younger sister, and her response is noticeably different. As soon as she is lifted toward the wall, Poppi instinctively stretches out her front paws, placing them against the surface as if to steady herself.
