Playful Dogs Topple Christmas Tree & Make Quick Getaway

Christmas usually moves at a slower pace in Zambia, which is probably why no one was prepared for the chaos that Zamba and Kiki, the dogs at @stylish_paws, were about to unleash. One second, everything felt calm and holiday-ready, but the next, zoomies arrived, and all bets were off. Two dogs, one Christmas tree, and zero ability to brake in time. To be fair, the Rottweiler and the Boston Terrier weren’t trying to be naughty; they were just moving too fast for their own good. The tree happened to be directly in their path. It’s the kind of video you watch twice, then immediately send to every dog owner you know.

When the video starts, they come flying in from outside, clearly unaware of just how much momentum they’ve built up. Kiki, a spunky Boston Terrier, led the way with her signature agility and speed. She darted into the corner, but Zamba was right on her heels. As a big Rottweiler, Zamba had tons of power but absolutely zero grip on those slippery tiles. He tried to stop, but instead, he slid right into the base of the branches. As his owner put it, “The tree never stood a chance.”

There’s a slow-motion replay, naturally — because someone had to figure out how this escalated so quickly. Kiki narrowly escaped being crushed as the festive fir toppled. Baubles scattered everywhere as Zamba scrambled to find his footing amidst the fallen branches. He quickly leapt onto the couch to hide safely next to his mom. Meanwhile, Kiki disappeared out of the frame entirely to avoid the blame. They came across as professionals who’ve done this before.

Mom’s shocked gasp eventually turns into genuine laughter as she surveyed the mess. The lights were tangled, and decorations cluttered the floor. Brenda Lee’s “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” played perfectly over the carnage. More than 20,000 people have already laughed along, with comments full of naughty-list jokes and crying emojis.

The room was a total disaster, but Mom clearly forgave her clumsy crew pretty much immediately. Zamba and Kiki might have ruined the decor, but they certainly provided a great holiday laugh. Here’s hoping the next tree has a little better luck.
