Video Shows Big Dog Taking a Nap Instead of Protecting the House

Dogs get all the credit for being loyal, tuned-in protectors… and then you run into one who looks at “home security” and politely declines the job. Koda, the Cane Corso, is that guy. The video shared by @kodacorso opens with the big dog sprawled across the couch, absolutely swallowed by sleep, head propped on a blue plushie that seems to have accepted its fate.

Now, for a dog whose Bio reads “Guardian & Cuddle Enthusiast,” he definitely leans harder into the cuddle part. The text on screen jokes, “This is who we chose to protect our home,” and truly? Fair question.

Big dog chooses to nap instead of protecting the house in funny video

You can practically feel why this video has taken off. It’s gathered over 1.4k likes, and people are using it as a prime example of “big dogs are just giant babies.” The shot starts wide, showing Koda absolutely dead to the world, limbs everywhere, snoozing like someone switched his entire system to airplane mode.

Hans Zimmer’s “Reflections of Mufasa” kicks in, giving his nap way more drama than it deserves. And somehow the zoom-in makes the whole scene even more ridiculous. Once the camera creeps up to his face, Koda pops one eye open with this heavy “are you serious right now?” look. It’s like he’s aware of the filming but absolutely not signing off on it.

Meanwhile, the comments section is basically a comedy club. “Working hard or hardly working,” someone jokes. Another adds, “He got one eye open so y’all good.” Someone else reflects, “A sleeping dragon is still a dragon,” which feels oddly accurate.

Koda’s page is normally wall-to-wall adventures and giant-dog snuggles with his parents, but this tiny burst of laziness might be his true masterpiece. Watching him nap like the world has zero responsibilities to offer him just makes the whole “Anybody is welcome at this point” caption hit even funnier.
