Video: Dog Finds Huge Tennis Ball & Nobody’s Allowed To Touch It

Most dog parents know the feeling of bringing home a new toy, only to discover their pet has instantly decided it’s the most important item in the house. Whether it’s a squeaky plush, a stick from the yard, or a chew toy that’s slowly falling apart, pups often form strong attachments that can be both funny and surprising. A new video captures exactly that dynamic between a dog and a comically oversized tennis ball.

Video shows dog not letting anybody touch his huge tennis ball

The video opens with Dice trotting proudly outdoors, gripping an oversized tennis ball tightly in his mouth. The ball is so large that it nearly matches the size of his head, making the moment even more entertaining to watch.

Text over the video reads, “When your dog finds a huge tennis ball and suddenly nobody’s allowed to touch it,” perfectly describing the Pit Bull’s determined posture.

His owner follows closely behind him, half-amused and half-attempting to retrieve the ball. Each time the owner reaches toward him, Dice picks up speed and moves away as if he’s guarding something priceless.

The way he carries himself makes it clear that, in his mind, this tennis ball is now his property, and nobody is getting near it. His owner jokes in the caption that Dice behaves as if he personally purchased the toy from PetSmart and therefore owns it outright.

Possessiveness over toys is common among dogs and can stem from a mix of instinct, personality, and experience. Some guard their items because the toy feels rewarding or rare. Meanwhile, others simply enjoy the thrill of keeping something that’s become special to them.

For many pets, especially those with strong retrieving or working instincts, certain toys provide mental stimulation and comfort. While the behavior can sometimes require training if it becomes excessive, in cases like Dice’s, it’s just harmless enthusiasm.
