Video Shows What Happens After Rescue Dog Witnesses Snowfall

A rescue dog named Rico has won over Instagram after his reaction to the season’s first snowfall in an adorable video. His owner, user @ricothepitmix, shared the video, and it did not take long for people to fall in love with the Pit Bull’s full-blown case of the zoomies. Rico’s moment in the snow lasted just a few minutes, but it was enough to brighten the days of thousands of viewers.

Rescue dog gets the zoomies after witnessing the first snowfall of the season

The video starts with the rescue dog’s mom opening the door and revealing the snowfall to Rico, along with the on-screen caption, “My rescue dog when he sees the first snowfall of the season.” As soon as she lets him outside, the dog bolts into the yard. He stops for a quick second, spreads his legs wide like he is bracing himself, and then takes off again.

He jumps, twists, and runs along the edge of the yard as the snow keeps falling. His owner speaks for Rico in the caption, writing, “I love doing zoomies in the snow.” Rico’s joy looks completely natural in the video. You can see him skid across the fresh snow, tail wagging nonstop, and he barely pauses long enough to catch his breath.

In the comments, viewers could not get enough of him. One person wrote, “It’s so adorable how snow gives them the zoomies,” while another noted, “THE SMILE ON HIS FACE.” Someone else called it “Snow zoomies.” Many people shared that their own dogs do the exact same thing when winter arrives, with one user saying, “My Mexican rescue is full Canadian she absolutely loves the snow.”

Others simply loved watching a happy dog enjoy himself, with one comment reading, “My Heart is melting. I just love dogs.” Another viewer pointed out Rico’s enthusiasm from the very start, saying, “Wow no hesitation!!”

The rescue dog’s pure reaction in the video was a reminder of how much joy dogs find in the simplest things — especially the first snowfall of the year.
