Video Shows Parents Who Didn’t Want a Dog & Now Have One

For many families, the idea of bringing home a dog sparks plenty of discussion. Pets require time, money, and daily attention, which can make even the most loving parents cautious about taking on the responsibility. Still, it’s often those same parents who end up forming the strongest bonds once a new pet arrives. An Instagram video shows a pair of parents who went from “absolutely not” to “completely in love” the moment a dog joined the family.

Parents are obsessed with Golden Retriever in adorable video

The clip begins by reminding viewers that these parents were originally firmly against getting a pet. According to the text overlay, they insisted that bringing home a dog was a “bad idea” and not something they wanted to take on. But the next few seconds of footage show just how dramatically things changed after a Golden Retriever entered their lives.

A montage follows of both mom and dad, completely smitten with their new furry family member. The dad is seen lying on the couch with the pup. He playfully strokes his head as though the two have known each other forever.

Another moment shows the mom speaking softly to the dog. She scoops him into her arms and cradles him as if he were a toddler. Throughout the video, the parents play with the dog, cuddle him, and give him the kind of affectionate attention typically reserved for a much-wanted pet, quite the opposite of their earlier hesitation.

The transformation is both funny and touching, and viewers were quick to point it out in the comments. One person joked, “The ‘no dog’ parents always fall the hardest,” capturing the universal truth that reluctant parents often become the most devoted pet owners.

Another praised the breed’s famously gentle nature, writing, “So sweet! A golden always brings out the love.” Someone else quipped, “It’s easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.”
