There is no better entertainment than a toddler leading two Golden Retrievers on a hike, and an adorable Instagram video proves just that. User @ladyandtheblues posted the clip, featuring a little girl named Olivia on a mountain hike with her two Goldens, Lady and Lily, and her parents. Captured while hiking to the mountains at 7,579 feet, the video is the perfect example of what makes a family adventure wholesome.
Toddler and Golden Retrievers on a hike is the best thing you will see all day
In the video, Olivia’s mom fitted a microphone on the toddler to record every moment during her hike with the Golden Retrievers. As she rides on her mother’s back, she breaks into song before exclaiming in Japanese, “Wow there are A LOT of waterfalls,” and later sweetly tells her dog, “It’s a lake, Lady.”
The two dogs, tails wagging and tongues out, walk patiently while Olivia’s mom playfully asks, “Do you like Lady or mom?” Without missing a beat, Olivia replies, “LADY,” prompting a chuckle from her mother.
Throughout the trail, little Olivia proves she is as brave as she is adorable. She tells the dogs, “Please walk slowly,” before hugging and kissing Lily and Lady, showing her deep affection and care. Even after falling right after warning her pups, “Be careful,” the toddler gets back up, unfazed and ready to keep going.
Viewers flooded the comments with love and laughter. One user wrote, “She’s narrating a National Geographic special,” while many praised Olivia’s bilingual charm, noting how her mix of English and Japanese makes the video even more adorable. A commenter wrote, “She’s precious and being bilingual is so great for her brain development! Brilliant parenting.”
The video ends with the toddler posing proudly between her furry Golden Retrievers by the lake, giggling while the caption says it all: “Wolves and squirrels won’t stop the girls.”
