Rescue puppy fails first therapy dog lesson in adorable video
This pet parent is doing his best to train his rescue puppy named Cactus to become a therapy dog. However, the training session is not going as planned. The clip, uploaded on @cactustherescue, shows owner Mike Brown instructing his furbaby to “not react” to his “clap.” But alas, the pooch fails the first session as he instantly reacts to the “loud noise” and jumps from the bed towards his dad.
Looking at Cactus’ reaction, Brown acknowledges that they have a “little bit of work to do.” He even confesses in the post that he has realised “how much work goes into therapy dog training. Apparently, they have to stay calm even during loud noises.” He then revealed, “That’s why we’re getting professional help. One day at a time!”
The reaction of the furbaby, who “was found in the deserts of CA and now lives in Miami,” with his pet parents, melted everyone’s hearts online. Looking at the clip, many dog lovers beelined to the comments section to share similar experiences.
One dog owner said, “We’re working on the same with our Golden neutrality is HARD but it’ll make a huge difference. You got this, Cactus!” While others encouraged the pup, with one saying, “Cactus is perfect!! He will get it.” Another noted, “Cactus you are going to be a great therapy dog.”
