There’s always that one family member who treats every piece of furniture like it’s part of an obstacle course — and in this house, it’s Lemon. Instagram user @remdawgs shared a video of the Dachshund in which the tiny long-bodied chaos engine can be seen tackling her brand-new “back-saving” ramp.
It’s almost like it’s her personal training ground. The in-video text says it all: “POV: You bought a ramp to help protect your Dachshund’s back…and she uses it as a launch pad.” It takes about two seconds to see that Lemon’s goal isn’t safety — it’s takeoff.
Dachshund has a completely different use for ramp in video
The Dachshund’s video exploded online, pulling in over 21K likes, and zero moments of calm. It starts with Lemon happily scampering up the ramp, which is positioned next to the couch. She’s got the confidence of someone about to break a world record, or at least the living room lamp.
Waiting at the top is Gus, her easygoing sibling, just trying to enjoy a peaceful lie-down. Lemon clears the last step, bounces right off Gus’s belly like a springboard, and lands perfectly in the dog bed on the floor — a leap that would make Olympic judges proud.
But she’s not done. The moment her paws hit the bed, she’s off again — back to the ramp, up the incline, another bounce off Gus, another flawless landing. In addition, Gus barely flinches, resigned to his fate as the world’s most patient crash mat.
It is obvious that the small dog, whose short legs belie her enormous energy, has managed to turn the entire setup into her very own climb, slide, and jump playpen. Moreover, the viewers are here for Lemon’s “athlete era.” One wrote, “It’s the bounce off the other dog for me.” Another exclaimed, “Precious!! Oh, the personality of a Dachshund!”
The comments perfectly capture a fact: only a Dachshund could turn a safety ramp into a thrill ride. Clearly, Lemon runs the show, and we’re just lucky to have front row seats.
