Video: ‘Big Bad’ Cane Corso Hides in Mom’s Lap Like a Baby

Even the biggest and most intimidating dogs have their soft spots. Despite their size and reputation for bravery, many large breeds often show surprisingly gentle (or even timid) sides that catch their owners off guard. One recent video is a perfect example, showing that even a powerful Cane Corso can melt into its owner’s lap like a nervous puppy when faced with an unexpected challenge.

Funny video shows Cane Corso hiding in mom’s lap after stray cat encounter

Bentley, a Cane Corso, is showing that courage sometimes takes a back seat to comfort. In a video shared on the Instagram page @bentley_has_issues, Bentley is seen resting his massive head on his mom’s lap while they sit together on a park bench. His droopy eyes and forlorn expression could melt any heart. The pup looks genuinely heartbroken, as though the world has just dealt him an unfair blow.

According to his owner, the source of his sadness was an encounter that happened just moments before the video was taken. Bentley had apparently come face-to-face with a stray cat who didn’t appreciate the intrusion and made its feelings known with a sharp hiss. The confrontation was enough to send the usually confident Cane Corso straight into his mom’s lap for reassurance. The video caption reads that while Bentley could “take down a grown man,” he still had to “hide on mom’s lap” after one hiss from a fearless feline.

As such, the contrast between Bentley’s powerful appearance and his timid reaction has elicited laughter from viewers. One top comment read, “He looks so sad too poor baby,” while another joked, “In my defense, the cat was actually a big cat, like a tiger.” A fellow pet owner added, “As the owner of an orange menace tabby… yeah, that checks,” referencing the notorious attitude of many cats. Someone even imagined Bentley’s inner thoughts, writing, “Mommy, why was that furry thing so mean to me??”
