Golden Retriever Siblings Go Trick or Treating & Try To Pull off Halloween Heist in Throwback Video

It’s that time of the year when everyone loves to play pretend — ghosts, goblins, superheroes, and, apparently, golden-furred con artists. Halloween is a holiday built around costumes and creativity, and it seems our four-legged companions are just as eager to join in on the fun. In a throwback video making the rounds online, two Golden Retriever siblings prove that a little imagination and a lot of cuteness can go a long way when you’re on a mission for more treats.

Sterling and Colin, two furry brothers known from the Instagram page @lifeofsterlingnewton, have built a reputation for being full of personality. In the throwback video shared by their owner, the Golden Retriever siblings are seen visiting the front door in various Halloween costumes — not once, but several times — as they attempt to score more treats.

The montage shows the dogs dressed as everything from Goofy and Chucky to Spiderman and even pumpkins. Each costume makes their playful “trick-or-treat mission” even funnier. Their owner, who’s filming the scene, slowly catches on to their clever little scheme. “I am pretty sure you’ve been here before,” she says in mock suspicion as the pups make their rounds.

Adding to the humor, text overlays on the video capture the dogs’ imagined thoughts. In one clip, Sterling “defends” himself by saying, “It was Colin’s idea,” while Colin cheekily shifts the blame back, thinking, “It was Sterling’s idea.” By the time their owner realizes what’s happening, the onscreen text sums up their charm perfectly: “Yeah, but we cute.”

In the caption, the owner reveals that the video is an old favorite from when Colin was still a puppy and that the mischievous pair “tried to get extra treats out of me.” Fans couldn’t get enough of the furry siblings’ antics, flooding the comments section with love and laughter.

One user wrote, “We don’t care. You can keep coming back as many times as you want!” Another joked, “If they worked different costumes each time, it’s still a legitimate effort worthy of additional treats.”

Others simply gushed over their cuteness. “You can never say no give the treats!” one fan insisted, while another added, “They both look so adorable in all of their costumes.”
