Video: Saint Bernards Can’t Stop Playing With ‘Stray Balloon’ That Flew Into Owner’s Backyard

A quiet afternoon took an adorable turn when a stray balloon drifted into one family’s backyard, catching the attention of their pups. In a now-viral video, the Saint Bernards transform the surprise visitor into their new favorite toy and turn the yard into a scene of joyful chaos, complete with barking, leaping, and one very unlucky balloon.

Owner documents Saint Bernards’ reaction to ‘stray balloon’ entering backyard in video

Zack Zornes, the owner of two Saint Bernards, recently shared a hilarious video capturing his dogs’ reaction to an unexpected present. Captioned “The highlight of my week,” the video begins with home camera footage showing a Dodgers baseball balloon gliding in with a gust of wind before coming to rest in a corner of the yard.

Inside, the two Saint Bernards are lounging in the living room while Zornes and his partner relax on the couch. Suddenly, the dogs perk up, alerted by the mysterious “intruder.” Bruce, the more energetic of the pair, trots over to the glass door, barking to signal that something unusual is happening outside. Zornes opens the door, letting both dogs out to investigate.

Once in the yard, their playful instincts kick in immediately. Zornes retrieves the balloon and tosses it into the air, sparking an impromptu game. The dogs leap and bounce around, using their snouts to push the balloon skyward again and again, clearly thrilled with their new toy. Their coordination and excitement turn the yard into a scene of pure, goofy fun.

The game goes on until Bruce, perhaps a little too enthusiastic, accidentally bursts the balloon with his jaw. The brief moment of silence that follows is almost comical, as if the dogs can’t quite believe their new plaything is gone.

The lighthearted video quickly made its way around social media, drawing laughter and warm comments from viewers. “A miracle toy from the heavens!” one person wrote. Another joked that Zornes might have to “start buying balloons on the regular.” Others chimed in with witty remarks like, “I think they hate the Dodgers,” and “House is paw-tected and safe from the balloon invasion.”
