For her first official swim, this Golden puppy sported a life jacket topped with a shark fin. In an instant, she transformed from a clumsy beginner to the pool’s most adorable “predator.”

Liz Lang, a dog mom from Nashville, shared a video of her Golden Retriever puppy, Poppi, as she tried out swimming for the very first time. In the clip, Poppi is seen wearing a gray-pink life jacket complete with a playful shark fin attached. The outfit made her look like a tiny “pool shark” gliding through the water.
Despite being a beginner, the little Golden Retriever wasted no time proving that swimming is in her blood. With smooth strokes, she paddled across the water confidently, even circling back for more laps. Alongside her was Pearl, her older Golden sister, who seemed just as delighted to splash around. It’s safe to say, the pair turned the pool into their own summer playground.
By the end of the session, Poppi’s golden fur was soaked, and she looked thoroughly content after her swim. The video, captioned by Liz as Poppi being “a shark in more ways than one,” has already attracted more than 1.7 million views and over 104K likes. It seems viewers couldn’t get enough of the puppy’s first swim and her shark-inspired look.
One user called Poppi the “sweetest and most adorable little pool sharkie,” while another joked, “That’s a shark attack I could live with.” Some viewers admitted they have a soft spot for dogs in water, with one remarking, “Something about dogs enjoying a swim just melts my heart.” Many also pointed out how Poppi’s confidence for such a young pup was both impressive and adorable.
