Video Proves Doberman Is Just Like a Toddler

Dobermans often get a reputation for being sleek, strong, and intimidating. However, behind that serious look is sometimes a total goofball with the emotional range of a toddler on their third juice box. One video of a Doberman named Cowboy is changing how people see the breed, because this pup’s behavior has more in common with a clingy toddler than a stoic guard dog.

The reel begins with a relatable and humorous text overlay: “Things my dog has in common with a toddler.” From there, the video introduces us to Cowboy, a Doberman whose behavior is hilariously similar to that of a young child. The first example is his clumsiness. The video shows Cowboy stumbling around the house and slipping on floors, just like a toddler learning to balance their growing limbs.

Next, we see Cowboy’s version of a temper tantrum. Whenever something minor goes wrong, he lets out soft baby-like noises that somehow land between a whine and a sigh. It’s his own form of protest, and it’s clear his human understands exactly what he’s trying to say. The footage then shows him eagerly pushing a toy into his owner’s face, nudging her repeatedly in an adorably persistent attempt to get her to play.

His toddler behavior doesn’t stop there. In one of the most endearing clips, Cowboy is seen lying in bed, waiting to be tucked in, similar to a child needing a bedtime routine. And while he’s evidently loved and well cared for, the owner doesn’t shy away from being honest about the occasional frustration. “Kind of annoying,” she jokingly calls him in the onscreen caption, because let’s face it, toddlers (and dogs) can both be a bit much sometimes.

The internet had plenty to say about Cowboy’s toddler-like tendencies. One commenter wrote, “He’s precious. Give that baby everything he wants.” Another chimed in, “Dogs and toddlers are the same and that is a hill I’m willing to die on.” A third user nicknamed him “doberbaby,” while another asked the real question: “What does Cowboy consider a ‘slight inconvenience’?” The answer, based on his reactions, might be just about anything.
