Video: Mom Reveals Who Is ‘Most Needy’ Out of Golden Retriever & Baby

Juggling remote work, parenting, and pets is basically a modern triathlon. You’d expect the baby to be the “most needy” member of the house, but one mom’s hilarious home video proves otherwise. Let’s just say her Golden Retriever did not come to play when it came to stealing her attention.

Mom shows how Golden Retriever beats baby in being ‘most needy’ in viral video

Cosmo, a one-year-old Golden Retriever, has earned himself a reputation for being the ultimate “velcro dog.” The clip shows Cosmo’s owner trying to work from home while balancing life with two Golden Retrievers and a baby. Her baby is lying peacefully, totally unbothered and content, on the floor. However, Cosmo is practically glued to his mom’s side, leaning in for affection and refusing to be ignored.

Despite having his brother Loki nearby (who’s more than happy relaxing on his own), Cosmo can’t seem to cope without constant attention. As the mom types on her laptop, Cosmo plants himself in her personal space, expecting nonstop pets and interaction. At one point, it’s clear that he’s not taking no for an answer. He even looks up at her with pleading eyes and the kind of side-eye only a Golden Retriever can give.

One viewer shared, “My golden loves to be loved! And if you don’t pet her she will push your hand with her nose.” Many seemed to agree that Cosmo’s behavior was peak Golden Retriever. Another person wrote, “Splendid ‘I’m the real baby here’ side-eye going on :)” referring to the not-so-subtle look Cosmo gave his mom, as if to say he deserved the attention more than the actual baby.

A popular theme in the comments was how Golden Retrievers just don’t understand personal space, especially when their humans are sitting on the floor. “Golden Retrievers are so perplexed when their human is sitting on the floor,” someone wrote. “They automatically think something is up.”
