A little bit of tender loving care goes a long way with dogs. As a pet parent, creating a nurturing, loving, and comfortable environment for your furry child should be your priority, especially when they come from unstable and abusive backgrounds. Pampering them with the good side of life can come second.
This wholesome video captured a foster dog, Meadow, realizing she could finally get “comfy” in her bed. The post will move you to tears and prove why it’s always the brightest after the storm.
An Instagram video shows a foster dog settling down after feeling uncertain in her surroundings
Not all dogs find love with their owners – some are often subjected to abuse and grow up in highly unstable and unloved settings. However, one thing we can always be certain of is that it’s never too late to start over, find new beginnings, and move forward from our past traumas. An Instagram video documented when a foster dog named Meadow settled down after feeling uncertain in his surroundings for weeks. It took her weeks to finally make herself at home, ease into the setting, and start to trust again.
The subtext explained that the canine would sniff the dog beds but never rest on them. In the following clips, she walked towards the bed and sniffed around for a few seconds before eventually walking away and lying on the carpeted floor. The foster parents believed “she didn’t know she could [sic] lie there.” They even claimed to have tried to guide Meadow to the bed and reward her so “she knew it was okay.” But she wasn’t comfortable, at least not just yet.
In the video, the foster dog parents explained that Meadow finally “got the courage to hop in… but quickly hopped back out.” The look on her face seemed to suggest that she felt she had done something wrong. But later that same day, the 2-year-old pooch returned to bed and sat in the most comfortable position, looking around to confirm if she was allowed to do that. She even wagged her tail, as if to say it was okay, and stretched her paws, taking it all in and fully relaxing.
