Dog Mistakes Mango Cubes for Cheese in Hilarious Video

We’ve all had that one bite of food we instantly regretted. Maybe it was mislabeled, maybe we were too hungry to care. Either way, regret sets in fast. Turns out, dogs have those moments too. Just ask Dyce the Rottweiler, who learned the hard way that mango cubes might look like cheese, but they certainly don’t taste like it.

Dog was not happy that his cheese cubes turned out to be mango

Dyce recently stole the spotlight online after a video of him reacting to a food switch-up was posted to Instagram by @dycederottweiler. In the clip, Dyce spots his owner eating a plate of neatly cut mango cubes using a fork. Naturally curious — and likely expecting a sample of what looked like his favorite cheese — Dyce leans in for a bite. However, the moment the mango hits his mouth, it’s evident the dog realizes something is off. His eyes widen, his jaw loosens, and the piece falls straight to the floor.

To add to the humor, the video is paired with the viral TikTok audio, “Ew, Brother, Ew! What’s That?” which accurately matches Dyce’s reaction. The combination of his dramatic expression, the unexpected fruit, and the spot-on sound bite has made the clip a hit.

Since being posted just four days ago, the video has racked up a massive 6.8 million views and 236K likes. Viewers in the comments had a lot to say about Dyce’s foodie betrayal. One person joked, “You can see the exact moment where that decision was regretted.” Another wrote, “The look of betrayal and regret at the same time.” Someone else observed, “He was so convinced he didn’t even wanna believe what his nose was telling him.”

While Dyce might not be a fan, mango is actually safe for dogs. The fruit is rich in vitamins A, B6, C, and E, and can make a nutritious treat when given in small, peeled, and pitted pieces. However, it’s important to avoid feeding the pit, which can be a choking hazard or contain small amounts of cyanide. Like all treats, mango should be given sparingly, especially to dogs not used to fruit in their diet.
