Video: Senior Dog Spends Final Days Attending Owner’s Wedding

In a tear-jerking video that has gone viral on Instagram, a senior dog attended his parents’ wedding to mark his final days. Pet owners will agree that their furry friends will forever be their babies. Thus, it is heartbreaking when it is time to say goodbye. However, this pair of dog parents managed to make their pup’s final days extra special. The couple scheduled their nuptials for the weekend before the day he was expected to cross the rainbow bridge.

Ryan and Elizabeth Dyer were certain that one guest must be there when they take their vows. Their senior dog, Jack, not only made their wedding extra special, but he also touched the hearts of many on the internet, as the video has now gone viral. With 2.6 million views and 239K likes, netizens couldn’t help but shed tears when they heard the couple’s touching story. The moving clip was captured by wedding videographer Jamie Ross. He thought it was too sweet a moment not to immortalize using his lens.

The video began with a clip of the family of three, with Elizabeth narrating how they came up with the idea of making their wedding all about their senior dog. She revealed that Jack is indeed 19 years old. He was scheduled for euthanasia the Monday after the weekend the pair held their wedding. The couple wanted their nuptials to be a celebration of their love as well as their pup, who had been an integral part of their lives.

They wanted to allow their loved ones to gather and shower him with love before he crossed the rainbow bridge. With their wedding already being in the plans, they thought it was the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together. Lib revealed that their “trio is about to become a duo,” but they plan on “filling the back seat again.” Ross added in the caption that “although it’s not the kind of storyline that would fit into a wedding film,” he wanted to put together a “keepsake” for the sweet couple.

On March 31, Ryan and Elizabeth took to Instagram to announce that they had said their “hardest of goodbyes” to Jack. They concluded the heartbreaking caption, exclaiming, “Rest easy our forever best friend.”
