Video: Foster Dog on Euthanasia List Opens up to Guardian After Rescue

People who choose to save a life are nothing less than heroes, with the only difference being that they probably don’t wear capes like those in comic books. Monica Matute, a foster dog parent, currently outnumbered by the dogs she has saved, shared one such story in a video of her furry friend, Mosby, after rescuing him from the euthanasia list. The “pawsome” guardian documented Mosby’s journey from being a 7-month-old baby afraid to open up to finally loosening up around his rescuer.

Monica later shared a follow-up post with an update on Mosby’s condition, now adoptable from Los Angeles’ Wags and Walks. Meanwhile, her TikTok continues to rack up views as more viewers express their interest in learning about the good boy’s progress.

Mosby’s story is so much more than just a “scared” foster dog who learned to open up to his guardian — it’s about perseverance, patience, and one’s willingness to save a life. The post started with Monica Matute’s car ride to rescue the 7-month-old puppy on the euthanasia list and her very first moments meeting him. Immediately making him feel safe and creating a comfortable environment for the pup, Matute initially struggled with getting him to open up to her, realizing that he was “exhausted.” But she didn’t give up.

Despite holding back for some time, the “good boy” started to loosen around his guardian of a foster mom. The clip then showed them taking a walk around the house as Mosby tried to walk down a flight of stairs one step at a time, getting up after every fall and gradually making progress. On the other hand, Matute appeared determined to help the pooch and lovingly and carefully nurtured him, along with occasional updates on him. She then documented his incredible progress in a follow-up post, noting that he is still looking for a home.

The foster dog mom’s video reached hundreds of thousands of viewers, who praised her efforts with the rescue pup as she worked unflaggingly towards his progress. Commenters left their remarks about their interest in Mosby’s journey and assured that they would keep track of upcoming updates. The good boy is now adoptable from LA’s Wags and Walks.
