Pets always have a way of getting away with adding to our tasks, and this dog has gone out of his way to add to his owner’s task of cleaning the pool in an adorable video. A Golden Retriever‘s mom recently took to Instagram to share the unique way her pup likes to play fetch. The video quickly went viral, garnering thousands of views and likes within one day.

Adria Barich recently took to Instagram to share a video of how her dog likes to play fetch while chilling in the pool. The Golden Retriever named Oatmeal makes his mom do all the work, as he relaxes in his “Oat Boat.” The hilarious clip has garnered more than 931K views and over 65K likes, going viral soon after she posted it.
The dog mom was running her viewers through a pool cleaning day and how she keeps her pup distracted. She creates a cute “little sensory bath” for Oatmeal that usually does the job as she cleans the pool. However, on the day she was filming the video, the canine had different plans. He decided that his toy for the day would be the “only ball in the bin that does not float.”
Barich then revealed that if there is one thing about her furry companion, it is that he is not responsible. Oatmeal proved her point in the very next clip as he dropped the ball into the water. Moreover, he happily watched it sink to the bottom of the pool. Instead of taking his pick from the numerous toys he had in his “little sensory bath,” he simply waited for his mom to do her job and fetch the ball for him.
The pup “sat and glared” at her till she finally retrieved the ball for him. The owner joked that although she didn’t have the word “Retriever” in her name, she somehow ended up having to do the retrieving. She jokingly noted that, unlike what the paperwork claims, her dog pretty much owns her, a sentiment that most pet parents will find relatable. However, Barich also acknowledged that this stunt might just be Oatmeal’s unique way of asking for her attention.
