Jimmy Fallon’s Dog Gary: Breed, Age, and More

People love Jimmy Fallon as host of The Tonight Show but fans love for his dog, Gary, is unconditional. The host met the pup first time on the same show and there was no looking back after that. The duo not only became best friends, but the host adopted the dog and welcomed her to his family. Here is what we know about Jimmy Fallon’s dog Gary’s age and breed.

How old is Jimmy Fallon’s dog Gary?

Jimmy Fallon’s dog Gary turned 1 on July 10, 2013. So, as of now, she is 12-years-old.

Jimmy Fallon first met the pup on his NBC talk show. Talking about their first meeting, the host told PEOPLE in the Sexiest Man Alive issue, “She came out on [Late Night with Jimmy Fallon] to do a bit. I think she was a political pundit. I was having a debate with her, and she was dressed in a suit.”

And while Jimmy Fallon won the debate, he lost his heart to Gary, eventually adopting her. The host officially introduced Gary as “a new member of the family” in September 2012.

What breed is Jimmy Fallon’s dog Gary?

The breed of Jimmy Fallon’s dog Gary is female English cream golden retriever. They have a gentle demeanour and has a lifespan of 10-12 years.

And if you are wondering about the unfeminine name, Gary, it is because when the pup made her TV debut, her political pundit name was Gary Frick Jr. due to which Jimmy Fallon’s wife told him, “You have to call it Gary.” That is why the pup ended up having a slightly unorthodox name.

However, Jimmy Fallon says Gary is best with the kids and gets along with others as well. No wonder, Gary has been a constant fixture in his life and has been seen crashing many of his interviews. Even Jimmy Fallon admits he tries “to do everything with my dog.”
