The shelter pets at The Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County were in for a pleasant surprise this holiday season. Ahead of Thanksgiving, the animals were offered special meals that got them jumping in excitement. Documenting the video, the shelter revealed that their “amazing group of volunteers” cooked food and served the dogs. The meal included some green beans, turkey, and more dishes.

The volunteers cooked food in large batches and distributed it to their shelter pets on plates. As soon as the dogs looked at the food, they began gobbling it fast. Most of them first went for the turkey before jumping on to the green beans and other dishes. A few waited eagerly before they could be served with the food. Once they received their plates full of the Thanksgiving meal, they could not stop wagging their tail in excitement.

However, the mean was not the only thing the organization provided. The pets received some well-deserved post-snack cuddles with the volunteers. The shelter’s kittens also got to join in on the celebration as volunteers fed them the meals as well. Finally, the shelter gave the pets their well-earned desserts for completing their meals. The animals enjoyed their pumpkin pup cups topped with whipped cream, polishing them off clean as well. The furry babies ended their meals with a nap.

This video has received over 2.7 million views on TikTok. Followers thanked the shelter for celebrating Thanksgiving with the pets. They commended the volunteers‘ for going above and beyond for the animals.
