Kaley Cuoco mourns the loss of her dog and recalls heartbreaking rehoming story

Kaley Cuoco could not hold back her emotions while revealing the rehoming story of her beloved Shirley. In a recently shared Instagram post, the actor also mourned the loss of the canine. In the caption, Cuoco wrote that the video was a homage to the late dog, writing, “In honor of my Shirley,” tagging her dog care company, Oh Norman!

The video began with Cuoco revealing that something was weighing in on her and she was ready to open up. The actor then talked about how everyone was curious about what happened to her dog Shirley as she stopped giving updates about the canine on social media. Cuoco revealed she had Shirley since the dog was 6 weeks old and added, “She’s a very special dog to me.”

Soon, Cuoco disclosed that when her partner, Tom Pelphrey, moved in with her with his German Shepherd, Blue. However, Shirley and Blue started getting into “some mega fights.” The actor said, “Shirley was determined to kill Blue.” She also discussed how Shirley got into fights with other dogs and it “scared” her that she would hurt herself, which is why Cuoco had to make the tough choice of rehoming the dog. The actor handed Shirley over to an incredible pet handler couple, Tony and Angie.

Towards the end of the video, Cuoco revealed that Shirley had passed away. She was suffering from an “aggressive bone cancer.” She was almost fourteen years old and lived her life freely on the pet handlers’ beautiful farm.
