Florida Shelter Dog With Rough Past Seeks Forever Home

SPCA of Brevard, a Florida-based adoption center, is reaching out to people seeking a forever home for one of their shelter dogs. In a Facebook post, the organization requested their followers to share the word that one of their dogs is ready for adoption. Roan, who is a little over a year old, had a “rough start.” She first arrived at a Georgie shelter following her rescue and later found her way to SPCA of Brevard.

How SPCA helped Roan heal and prepare for her new family

Florida’s SPCA of Brevard is helping one of their shelter dogs find a loving home. The organization released an announcement on Facebook, urging their followers to share the message that Roan’s is ready for adoption. The post briefly describes the dog, who is “just over 1 year old and absolutely adorable.”

SPCA mentioned that Roan was rescued from “an alleged cruelty case,” after which she landed in a Georgia shelter. The organization claims that she has since overcome the “rough start,” leaving it in the past “for the most part.” The post also mentions that after arriving at their Florida shelter, the dog received “FREE training sessions with GoodPup.”

Moreover, Roan is “sweet,” “cuddly,” and “great with other dogs.” The description confirmed that she also “loves people and older kids,” can “get along with cats,” and appreciates “cuddles.”

The dog is currently “crashing” in foster care with the Florida shelter’s Executive Director, Susan, who owns three other dogs. Susan says that while she wishes Roan could stay with them longer, her dogs — Winston, Gracie, and Zoe — “took a vote” and decided to bar the rescue dog from taking vacations with them.

SPCA of Brevard is urging people interested in meeting and adopting Roan to visit her at their Titusville adoption center. The Facebook post mentions the detailed address of the center, where she is currently residing.
