Chris Pine Urges Fans to Adopt Dogs He Rescued From Scheduled Euthanasia

Chris Pine recently appealed to fans to adopt two gorgeous dogs, Max and Jack, whom he rescued only a few hours before their scheduled euthanasia. The actor helped the canines through several surgeries and extensive training to get them all set to find new homes. He is currently serving as their foster carer. Reportedly, Pine has teamed up with a Los Angeles’ foster-based rescue organization, The Animal Rescue Mission, to look for caring adopters for Max and Jack.

Chris Pine teams up with rescue to help 2 dogs find loving homes

Chris Pine has joined hands with The Animal Rescue Mission to find forever families and homes for two adorable dogs — Jack and Max. Jack is a 3-year-old Mastiff mix, while Max is a 2-year-old Shepherd/Siberian Husky mix. The actor saved their lives from euthanasia.

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Chris Pine urged individuals to adopt the two dogs. He said, “These two dogs … they’re still waiting for homes, so if there’s anybody out there that reads this, I have two gorgeous, wonderful loving dogs that need a home.”

The actor also opened up about the serious issues concerning adoption in Los Angeles. Pine explained, “We have such a problem with adoption in Los Angeles and such a problem in the shelters in Los Angeles, it’s really horrifying.” He continued, “So I’m a big promoter of adopting, especially here, because we need all the dogs off the streets that we can.”

As per a press release by Pets Global, Max and Jack are just two of over 23,000 canines to enter the shelter system of Los Angeles County since last July. Nearly 20% of these dogs have been killed, which is why an immediate change is required. People interested in giving Max and Jack a forever home can visit the official site of The Animal Rescue Mission.
