WWE’s Cody Rhodes Reveals Why His Dog Pharaoh Won’t Join Him on Tours Anymore

Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes’ dog Pharaoh will no longer join him on the road and during tours due to aging concerns. He confirmed that Pharaoh’s walk alongside him during the Cleveland, Ohio, SummerSlam on Aug. 3, 2024, was his final appearance. Rhodes’ pet Husky has been his constant companion for years, and he even has his own WWE merchandise. The Husky will now spend time at home with family.

Cody Rhodes shares why his Husky Pharaoh won’t be on the road with him

Cody Rhodes revealed Pharaoh’s WWE SummerSlam walk out next to him was the pet dog’s last hurrah, reported ComicBook. Rhodes confirmed the news about his pet dog before the event in Ohio, Cleveland, on Aug. 3. Additionally, the wrestler clarified that Pharaoh is fine and is now 13 years old, which has raised aging concerns.

Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes told the outlet during the SummerSlam press conference how Pharaoh has been his loyal pet dog, friend, and companion. He spoke about Pharaoh in-depth, mentioning, “You know — Pharaoh’s 13 years old. For those who don’t know, Pharaoh’s my Husky; my dog. He’s 13 years old. He’s thriving, he’s doing great, but the pack is at home now.”

Emotionally, Cody Rhodes added, “He’s more Libby’s dog than he is my dog anymore. But something about Pharaoh that, some people know this, but anytime I’ve had highs and lows and particularly the lows in my life, I’m not always the easiest to reach.”

The wrestler recalled that “one time I just sat outside when I had a home in Dallas, I just couldn’t go inside. I couldn’t function, I couldn’t think. That dog sat with me from, I don’t know, 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., he just never moved. People who have dogs, get it, right? He’s really man’s best friend.”

Cody Rhodes added that he doesn’t intend to keep dragging his dog Pharaoh “on the road if he just wants to be home.” He remembered all the “good time,” “lots of treats,” and “the bus driving crew clearly giving them food they shouldn’t.” Rhodes also expressed how happy he is “that I got to take that walk with him and my other dog Yeti Pinkerton is just a jobber. He’s an enhancement dog. Now it’s his time to step up and I love him so that’s really nice.”

Lastly, Rhodes thanked “WWE for — you know it’s a pretty ridiculous ask. ‘Okay, I’m gonna have my dog here,’ ‘Okay, no problem.’ So it was very kind of WWE to do. I really appreciated it.”

Cody Rhodes’ pet dog Pharaoh has been a part of his family since 2011, reported RingSideNews. The Husky has accompanied the wrestler throughout his career. Rhodes dedicated the 2024 SummerSlam to Pharaoh following their final walkout in Cleveland.
