On June 4, during an interview with Jeremy Renner, Drew Barrymore was left mortified as her dog got “extremely turned on” on set. While Barrymore tried to handle the situation as professionally as possible, Renner was a sport about it, jokingly asking the canine if his cologne was the reason he was wagging his tail so enthusiastically.

On Tuesday, the talk show host interviewed Jeremy Renner on “The Drew Barrymore Show.” During the interview, Drew Barrymore’s dog, Douglas, started getting excited and wagging his tail as he hoped to catch Renner’s attention. The talk show host tried her best to cool down the situation, noting, “I think Douglas is getting really excited, so we’re just gonna…”

However, Jeremy Renner wasn’t fazed by the canine’s excitement whatsoever. He even asked Douglas if his cologne got him all enthusiastic. Drew Barrymore tried to explain her dog’s behavior, stating that sometimes her furry friend gets very excited. While it is surely a compliment to the human, it is pretty mortifying for the pet parent.

Barrymore jokingly exclaimed, “There’s nothing like when your child embarrasses you.” Renner quickly comforted the talk show host, hugging her when he noticed she was embarrassed by her canine companion’s behavior. The “Hawkeye” star could be seen enjoying Douglas’ company throughout the interview, petting the dog while answering Barrymore’s questions.

According to Daily Mail, Douglas is a regular at “The Drew Barrymore Show” set. He can often be seen relaxing on the sofa beside the talk show host’s guests. Drew Barrymore is an animal lover. Along with her dogs and cats, she also has a snake, a bearded dragon, and a fish as pets.

Her love for animals led the actor to partner with Ring for its Pet Portraits Campaign. In the campaign, Barrymore’s dog, Douglas, co-starred in a short film. In celebration of National Pet Month, the campaign aimed to raise funds for shelters across the United States.
