Jimmy Fallon shared a short clip of him chatting with Travis Kelce on Instagram. However, what captured everyone’s attention was the drowsy puppy in his arms. While everyone was there to watch the racehorses, people present couldn’t resist petting Fallon’s furry companion. The Golden Retriever puppy didn’t seem bothered by his surroundings. Moreover, he could be seen enjoying pets from two attendees in the short video.
The Kentucky Derby also couldn’t resist commenting. It reposted a post from the Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, commenting, “Just when you think the day can’t get any better, @jimmyfallon shows up holding a sleeping puppy.”
The canine was dressed for the occasion and had a sleepy moment in Andy Beshear’s arms as well. The Governor of Kentucky noted that the puppy was Jimmy Fallon’s lucky charm, which is why the comedian brought him along to the star-studded affair.
The Golden Retriever also appeared in “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Fans were quick to note that the pup was indeed one of the participants from the “Puppies Predict the Winner of the 2024 Kentucky Derby” segment. Per Parade Pets, Jimmy Fallon’s puppy friend was none other than Number 12, a sweet canine named Resilience.
Fallon had a special connection with Resilience when he first appeared on-screen. He had exclaimed that he was “the most chill puppy he had seen in his life.” Given Resilience’s “chill” attitude, it is no surprise he was falling asleep in Fallon’s arms while at the Kentucky Derby 2024.
