In an exclusive sneak peek shared by PEOPLE, Walter, 60, and Buster charm viewers with their endearing reenactment, seated at a table with a checkered tablecloth. They are seen sharing a strand of spaghetti with the message “Use Your Noodle. Adopt! Don’t Shop.”

The behind-the-scenes glimpse showcases the genuine bond between Lisa and Buster as they rehearse poses and exchange affectionate kisses against the backdrop of romantic music. At the end of the video, Walter expresses her advocacy for adoption, emphasizing, “Always adopt! Don’t shop,” while cuddling Buster close.

As per PETA, Walter adopted Buster shortly after he was born. The actress shared with Good Dog that she was introduced to the dog by her Parent Trap co-star and close friend, Elaine Hendrix, who engages in animal rescue efforts. Hendrix, taking care of a pregnant dog in need of rescue at the time, inspired Walter to adopt one of the litter.

In a conversation with the dog adoption website, Walter expressed her deep affection for Buster. She noted the dog’s loyalty and constant love as her favorite qualities.

By participating in this initiative, the actress aligns with other prominent figures who have collaborated with PETA. These include John Stamos, Tom Hardy, and Ron Perlman. PETA points out that approximately 70 million dogs and cats live without homes. This crisis worsens as some shelters refuse cats and occasionally turn dogs away due to lack of space. As a result, it leads to uncontrolled reproduction and lack of care among abandoned animals on the streets.

Walter’s collaboration with PETA comes just after the third season of the popular comedy series Abbott Elementary premiered. In the show, she shares the screen with Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Janelle James.
