International Bandanna Day happens on the last Friday of October. That’s October 29th in 2021!
International Bandanna Day is believed to have started in Australia to raise awareness of children living with cancer.
People living with cancer often have to undergo radiation therapy, which can cause hair loss. For that reason, chemo patients sometimes wear scarves, hats, and bandannas to cover up or keep their heads warm.
Most of us at least know someone who has or had cancer, so show support and solidarity by wearing your bandanna on October 29th.
Any color will do, and you can wear it any way you like. Your dog can even join in with their own bandanna, just like the pups below! Here are ten dogs sporting bandannas to help raise awareness.
