Iron Man is the Avenger who started it all in the MCU. The first movie in the series changed the game for superheroes in film, and without it, we might not have all the amazing Marvel movies we have today. Check out these names inspired by the Iron Man series.

  • Rhodey
  • Pepper
  • Yinsen
  • Vanko

Some movies feature Marvel characters, but aren’t part of the MCU–yet. But as Disney buys studios left and right, there’s no reason these characters–with great dog names–couldn’t appear in the MCU in the future.

Deadpool Series (2016-2018)

If you haven’t seen the action-packed, hilarious Deadpool 2 yet, it’s currently on HBO, Youtube, VUDU, and more. If you have kids, I recommend Once Upon A Deadpool. It’s edited to a PG-13 rating and features Fred Savage.

Great cat names from Deadpool include: Wade, Cable, Ajax, Warlord, Weasel, Vanessa, Domino, Yukio, Buck, Negasonic, and Juggernaut.

Venom (2018)

Venom is one of my favorite Marvel films, because Tom Hardy is such a brilliant actor. It’s currently available on Starz, Amazon, and VUDU.

Dog names from the film include: Eddie, Dora, Cletus, Lewis, and Emerson.

FUN FACT: Did you know a fan created and sold Venom to Marvel for $220? He didn’t get much money, but he’ll forever be a footnote in the Marvel Universe. Or should I say paw-note?

Blade Series (1998-2002)

Blade kicked vampire butt well before the MCU even got off the ground.

Maybe you can find a dog name from the cool series: Blade, Deacon Frost, Whistler, Quinn, Nyssa, Scud, Nomak, Chupa, or Priest.

Daredevil (2003)

Netflix rebooted Daredevil, but he appeared in his own film in 2003 starring Ben Affleck, who recently jumped over to the DCEU as Batman.

It may not be the greatest superhero movie, but it provides names that might suit your pup, including: Murdock, Elektra, Fisk, Bullseye, and Wesley.

If your friends have taken home recent furry additions to their families, maybe they’re looking for an awesome hero or villain dog name. If they’re fans of the MCU, share this master list with them for inspiration.

I wouldn’t mind a parallel world where heroes like Thor keep dark overlords, like his brother Loki in check, or where funny, sarcastic heroes like Deadpool, beat the living tar out of villains like Ajax and his crew.

Of course, I’ll settle for this universe where I can curl up with a sweet little puppy and watch epic battles from the comfort and safety of my own couch!

Do you have a favorite Marvel film? Do you have any pups named after a Marvel character? Which names are your favorites from the list above? Let us know in the comments below!
