DogTime Media partners with Animal Radio to highlight real-life stories of animal rescues

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, July 30, 2008–DogTimeMedia.com <http://dogtimemedia.com>, the #1 online network in the pet market, announced a partnership with Animal Radio®<http://www.animalradio.com>, the “most-listened-to” pet talk radio in the U.S., to produce Road to Rescue, a new radio segment that will capture real-life stories of the people who dedicate their lives to rescuing animals.

Road to Rescue, hosted by longtime rescue volunteer and DogTime.com senior editor Leslie Smith, will travel to towns across the U.S. and go behind the scenes to uncover inspirational and heart warming stories of the hard work that is being done every day to save the lives of animals. The show will include interviews with pet experts, volunteers and industry luminaries.

“Animal Radio® is excited to be working with an industry leader like DogTime to bring to light the work being done everyday by the hundreds of volunteers across the country,” said Hal Abrams, Animal Radio® VP of Programming. “This partnership will bring compelling real-life stories to more pet enthusiasts and empower them with the information they need to make a better life for the animals they care for.”

The partnership will also bring a groundbreaking series of dog training videos, hosted by renowned animal behaviorists Ian and Kelly Dunbar, to the Animal Radio® web site. The Dunbar Training Center, developed by DogTime.com, features everything pet owners need to know to raise a well-behaved dog. Each lesson, from House Training to Raising a Friendly Dog, is reinforced by a short video starring the Dunbar’s and their dogs, plus a quiz that encourages owners to test their progress.

“DogTime Media’s partnership with Animal Radio® will allow us both to reach more pet owners with authoritative, educational and entertaining content,” said Trevor Wright, CEO of DogTime Media. “By highlighting the good work being done by shelters and rescue groups we hope to draw more support for them from our community, encourage adoptions and pave the way for better lives for pets and pet owners.”

Two of Animal Radio®’s most popular on-air personalities will also be available to provide experts advice online via DogTime.com’s Expert Center <http://dogtime.com/experts>:

  • Animal Radio® On-Call Vet Dr. Debbie White, a small animal and exotic animal veterinarian in Las Vegas, NV., a volunteer in the Veterinary Medical Reserve Corps in Las Vegas, and a member of the Veterinary News Network, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, & the Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians.
