Our take: This nontraditional indoor/outdoor bed is filled with polystyrene beads. The colorful cover is a breathable woven mesh made of Textilene. It’s designed for hot and humid climates as the mesh cover allows for air circulation, so the dog’s body heat doesn’t warm up the bed. Another plus: nasty little parasites don’t like the inorganic materials.
If an old or sick dog soils the bed, you can just drip a bit of dishwashing liquid on it and hose that puppy down. (Okay, so the system doesn’t work all that well in winter climates here in Wisconsin since the hoses don’t work.)
The dogs weigh in: Clint loves this long bed (well, it’s long enough that a wee blind dog could find it easily or just plain trip on it) and probably used it more than Fred. When he shifted, the beans slid around and redistributed his weight; same for twice-the-size Fred.
