Chris Evans shared a selfie on Instagram this week featuring his beloved Boxer, Dodger. People pulled together a heartwarming spread to celebrate the actor’s social media devotion to his pup.

Evans is well-known as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What might not be as well-known, is that he is utterly devoted to Dodger.
In fact, Evans claims that the only reason he started an Instagram account was to share adorable pictures of his dog!

Dodger and Evans met while the actor was filming Gifted, back in 2017.
“One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel,” Evans explained to People, back when he adopted Dodger.
“I foolishly walked in and I thought, ‘Are these actor dogs, or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough, they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude, and he didn’t belong there.”

Falling head over paws for the Boxer, Evans “snagged him” and told People that the dog is very much a lover. “He’s such a sweetheart,” Evans said. “He’s such a good boy. He loves dogs, he loves kids, he’s full of love.”

Evans relayed to Jimmy Fallon that the entire reason he has an Instagram is because of Dodger.
“I guess I caved,” Evans told Fallon back in May. “I had too many good pictures of my dog.”
Like a true pet parent, Evans said, “I was like, they’re being wasted in my phone. I need to put these somewhere.” We can relate!
And true to his word, that is the vast majority of what Evans posts about, which includes a post from this past Tuesday where he asked fans if he and Dodger were “Twins?”
Of course, followers of Evans were quick to respond. Despite Evans’ good looks, however, these responses definitely favored Dodger.
“I don’t know who is more adorable. But look at that handsome face… sorry but I gotta go with Dodger,” said one such fan. “The guy on the right is definitely the cute one. Sorry not sorry,” said another, referring to Dodger, of course.
We definitely agree that Dodger wins this particular contest.
