It's not easy living with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. It's a genetic defect in the connective tissue of the body. Erin Condrin, an Australian teenager, knows the condition all too well. It causes her joints to dislocate about 20 times a day. She uses a wheelchair to ease the pain, and the one friend who always stays by her side is Lacey, her Golden Retriever service dog.

And being her best friend in the world, it's no wonder that Lacey was there to support Erin for her Prom. Lacey even wore a matching dress, and she looks especially adorable with her smiling human girl companion. When Lacey was getting her own Prom dress made, she asked the dressmaker to take the leftover material to make a matching outfit for Lacey. The dressmaker loved the idea, and Lacey wore it flawlessly.

I don't even have an excuse, I just love this costume... As does she

Lacey was trained by Canine Helpers Australia. Since she joined Erin, the pair have had all sorts of adventures. On Halloween, Lacey dressed as Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. Erin wants to share pictures of Lacey with the world to show that life with a disability isn't all sadness. There are still happy times in life, even when things aren't perfect. We can't wait to see more of their good times together!
