Flea Infested Street Dog Shuts Down After Rescue, But Then… [VIDEO]

Benji appears to be a Poodle, Lhasa mix that had been living on the streets for his entire life. He feared and avoided humans, so you can only imagine what this little guy had been through.

Hope for Paws got the call to help get him off the streets. Eldad Hagar and Lisa Chiarelli did the honors of wrangling him. He had horribly matted fur and a flea infestation, but overall his health was pretty good for a dog that had been living on the streets for so long.

The vetting and grooming seemed to be the easy part. After going into foster care with Lisa Chiarelli and her sweet fur babies Frankie and Lola, it took 10 days for Benji to take in his surroundings and begin coming out of his shell. He had completely shut down, but he slowly came around.

He’s not even recognizable as the same dog. Now he looks like a happy puppy!

After a long socialization period, Benji is ready to find his furever home. He’s available for adoption through Pal Rescue. Please share and help him get started on the next chapter of his life.

Thank you to everyone at Hope for Paws and all rescue organizations for your inspiring work with animals!
