According to the London Evening Standard, last Friday was the hottest day of the year in north London’s Finsbury Park, with temperatures reaching a high of 90 degrees. So when police officers found a dog curled on the floor of the driver’s seat of a locked car, they wasted no time in saving the animal and broke one of the vehicle’s windows.
Sgt. Richard Berns tweeted the rescue:

Reports claim the owner returned to the vehicle, discovered the damage, and will get a home visit by the RSPCA.
Leaving a pet — or a human, for that matter — in a car on a hot day can result in heat stroke, or a host of other ailments that can be fatal.
