There was apparently one very important item on Gamja’s schedule: wait until the baby is asleep, then collect her cuddle time with Mom. The senior Golden Retriever has clearly figured out that newborn baby duties come with a little competition, and she is handling it with impressive patience.
In a video shared by @gamjamypotato, the 426k-plus-follower account captures the sweet moment Gamja finally gets Mom all to herself. After being so good since the baby came home, she seems more than ready to enjoy a few quiet minutes of affection.
Senior Golden Retriever patiently waits for the newborn baby to nap before getting his cuddle time with Mom
The video starts in the hallway with Gamja already waiting for Mom. She walks over, and Gamja keeps her eyes on her the whole time. As Mom leans down for a hug, that tail starts wagging, and Gamja melts into the attention.
Mom kisses her face, and Gamja responds with the biggest smile. Then Mom sits beside her for more cuddles.
The cutest part comes when Mom briefly loosens her arms. Gamja promptly places a paw on her hand, as if there has been a small misunderstanding about the cuddle arrangement. Mom laughs and wraps her arms around her again.
Gamja then puts a paw on Mom’s arm again, making it pretty clear that she is not ready for the session to end.
The timing is especially sweet because Gamja and Chip have been taking care of Mom since the baby came home. And now, with the newborn finally asleep, Gamja gets a few quiet minutes with her favorite person, and she plans to make every second count.
The video had already picked up 4.7k likes in less than 12 hours, with viewers melting over the senior dog‘s cuddle break.
One commenter noticed her smile when Mom rested her head on her, while another wrote, “Mama never forgets her first babies.” Gamja may have to share Mom now, but she knows how to ask for her turn.
