Boojeaux never quite knows what to do with himself whenever there are little babies around, and honestly, that’s part of his charm. Shared by @dojeauxcreamgoldens, this adorable video captures the Golden Retriever’s latest reunion with a box full of tiny quail chicks, and his excitement is almost too much to contain. He whines, paces, peeks into their brooder every chance he gets, then somehow switches into the gentlest dog imaginable the second he’s close enough to them.
Golden Retriever lets his little ‘babies’ do the most unexpected thing when they meet
The video starts with Boojeaux proudly carrying one of his toys while staring at a brooder filled with tiny chicks. When his mom asks, “Are there babies in there?” he hurries over for a peek, lets out one excited little whine, and has to walk away for a second as if the happiness is simply too much to process.
We then see Boojeaux lying down on the floor to get a closer look at the tiny birds. There are two incredibly small chicks right in the middle of his front paws. The playful thought bubble reads, “Mom… I’m such a gud boy. I’m looksing at them wifs such safeties,” And it’s true, the dog sits so still that observers might easily mistake the scene for a photograph.
Golden Retrievers are generally so sweet around little babies. They naturally possess a strong urge to protect smaller creatures. Before long, one adventurous little bird decides to climb straight up into the dog’s thick neck fur to find a cozy hiding spot. Later, Boojeaux carefully lowers his nose right over another chick resting near his arm, freezing completely.
Hilarious text overlays imagine his inner thoughts, suggesting he is terrified of breathing too hard. He worries he might accidentally inhale the tiny bird. The sweet pup simply wants to look at his new friends with absolute safety.
The video is all kinds of wholesome, which explains why it raced past 169,000 likes in less than a day, with viewers completely smitten by Boojeaux’s careful approach to his feathered little friends.
