Rambo spent days waiting alone in an evicted apartment, completely unaware that his family wasn’t coming back. An emotional Instagram video shared by @adoptmiamidogproject shows how this sweet shelter dog finally found safety. Animal control officers luckily rescued the lonely pup after the previous tenants packed up and vanished. He moved into a busy rescue facility back in February, spending months waiting for a friendly face. Despite his confusing ordeal, he remains incredibly gentle and greets every passing stranger with optimism.
Shelter dog left behind by owners is looking to be adopted
The video opens with Rambo quietly looking toward the camera, making eye contact almost immediately. He sits still while wearing a large plastic medical cone around his neck. A kind volunteer reaches over to rub his cheeks, and Rambo happily leans into the attention. Then comes the best little makeover as his plastic cone is swapped for a colorful donut collar. Suddenly his whole face is easy to see, and he keeps following the volunteer’s hand with curious eyes.
This handsome 4-year-old boy is a unique mix of Siberian Husky and Pit Bull. His blue eyes catch your attention first, but it doesn’t take long to notice that he would much rather be getting cuddles than posing for the camera. Even with plenty happening around him, Rambo stays calm and keeps looking for people to say hello to. What he seems to need most now is a home where he has time to settle in at his own pace.
Hundreds of people have already stopped to like the post, and plenty are hoping Rambo’s wait won’t last much longer. People couldn’t stop talking about how handsome he is, with one person simply calling him “a beautiful dude.” The volunteer also encourages adopters to keep the 3-3-3 guideline in mind while a new dog settles in. Every rescue pup needs three days to decompress, three weeks to adjust, and three months to feel secure.
Rambo is waiting for a fresh start at Miami-Dade Animal Services on Northwest 79th Avenue in Doral, Florida. If Rambo feels like the right fit, the volunteer encourages people to reach out or visit the shelter to meet him in person.
