Sure, there are the Oscars, Golden Globes, and other awards for people, but how about an awards ceremony to give dogs their due? On Monday, Feb. 13, the first annual Golden Collar Awards will take place at the Hotel Palomar in Los Angeles. The nominations, announced by nominee Uggie, who is featured in theThe Artist and Water For Elephants, and actress Penelope Ann Miller, are in seven different categories – from Best Dog in a Theatrical Film to Golden Collar Humanitarian Award.
All proceeds will go to Los Angeles-based dog organizations and shelters.
